Johannes Quack (* 1959 in Anrath ) is a German organist and church musician .

Life

After graduating from high school, Johannes Quack studied Protestant church music with Johannes Geffert at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf . After the A-exam he completed a postgraduate course with Hans-Dieter Möller and graduated with the concert exam . Further studies with Nicolas Kynaston followed . Before he was appointed cantor at the Antoniterkirche in Cologne in 1990, he served as a church musician at the Martin Luther Church in Bad Orb from 1988 to 1990. Since 1992 he has also been teaching artistic and liturgical organ playing at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf. His concert activities have taken him to England, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands and the USA. For his services to church music, he was appointed church music director in 2011 .
