Johannes Randegger (born March 22, 1941 in Davos , legal resident in Ossingen ) is a former director of a corporation and a Swiss politician ( FDP )

Life and career

Randegger grew up in very simple circumstances, the father was a gardener, the mother was a laundress. As a teenager he was always very active in sports, u. a. as a junior at HCD . Apprenticeship as a laboratory assistant at Ciba . Afterwards, passing the Matura and completing a chemistry degree as a working student . Working as a graduate chemist for the security service of the now merged Ciba-Geigy, Randegger also wrote his doctoral thesis and received his doctorate in 1976. Then three years stay in the US and professional work at the local Ciba-Geigy plants. In the mid-1980s Johannes R. Randegger moved with his family to Manchester , where he was able to take over responsibility for a factory for dyes as plant manager . 1988 return to Basel as plant manager at Ciba-Geigy. There he was strongly committed (with the support of the then CEO Alex Krauer ) to environmentally friendly chemistry, more transparency and dialogue with the population. The appointment as deputy director (1986) was followed by appointment as deputy director (1989) and finally as full director (1991). His negotiating skills were essential for the construction of a new regional hazardous waste furnace. He has been retired since November 2001, but performs numerous tasks in the field of volunteer work. He played a key role in shaping the 'aprentas' training association until he left the company in 2005.

He is married for the second time, has four children and was a lieutenant colonel in the Swiss Army .

politics

He was elected to the National Council in the Swiss parliamentary elections in 1995 and left office on December 8, 2006. Randegger was in the Commission for Science, Education and Culture NR and the delegation to the Council of Europe.
