Johannes Schütz (plasterer)
Johannes Schütz , also Johann Schütz (* 1704 in Wessobrunn , † 1752 in Baden-Baden ) was a German plasterer from the Wessobrunn school .
Schütz was first mentioned in the summer of 1729 when he designed the flower room at Wolfegg Castle . Further work followed in Wolfegg, Urlau, the parish church of St. Gallus and Ulrich and the castle chapel in Kißlegg , Beuron , at Zeil Castle and Syrgenstein Castle , as well as in Leutkirch in the Allgäu , where he worked in the town hall, in the small castle and in the Hummelsberg garden house .
One of his most important works is the design of the parish church of St. Katharina in Wolfegg in 1735. In 1740 he worked as the margrave of Baden's court plasterer at Rastatt Castle . One of his last works was the design of the church in Appenweier in 1751. Schütz died in Baden-Baden in 1752.
