Johannes Treib

Johannes Treib (born January 6, 1965 in Saarlouis ) is chief physician of the neurological clinic of the Westpfalz-Klinikum GmbH in the city of Kaiserslautern .

Life

Johannes Treib studied human medicine at the Saarland University Hospital in Homburg from 1985 to 1991 . From 1987 to 1994 he was also doing a second degree in philosophy at Saarland University . After passing the state examination, he completed further training as a specialist in neurology at the Neurological University Clinic in Homburg. As part of clinical training, he acquired special knowledge in the care of patients with complex neurological diseases, including in neurological intensive care medicine . The training was supplemented by a year of further psychiatric training at the regional hospital in Merzig .

Since 1989 he has given numerous scientific lectures and presentations at national and international congresses and symposia. From 1996 on, numerous scientific conferences and events took place under his leadership. In 1997 he took over the role of clinical senior physician at the Neurological University Clinic in Homburg, where two years later he took over the position of acting director. After receiving the additional qualification in neurological intensive care medicine in 2000, he moved to the West Palatinate Clinic in Kaiserslautern. Initially, he worked for two years as the senior consultant in the neurological clinic, and in 2002 he took over the management. In 2007 he received an additional qualification in sleep medicine and in 2013 the specialist knowledge of geriatrics. At the age of 26 he completed his doctorate, at 32 he obtained his habilitation as the youngest clinical private lecturer at Saarland University. In December 2003 he was appointed adjunct professor at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz .

In addition to clinical training, he worked scientifically, among other things, in the areas of volume therapy for ischemic cerebral infarction and the influence of hydroxyethyl starch on hemorheology and the coagulation system .

Since 2003 he has supervised over 30 dissertations on various neurological topics. By 2020 he had written or contributed to around 100 articles for scientific journals and more than 100 for daily and weekly newspapers and gave more than 150 lectures on topics such as: B. tick diseases, multiple sclerosis , stroke , dementia , back pain , preventive health care and gait disorders. Also until 2020 he was involved in around 20 books and around 25 television and radio contributions.

His doctoral thesis was entitled: Influence of a 0.62 substituted hydroxyethyl starch 200 on the hemorheology and coagulation system in the course of long-term hemodilution therapy . She was awarded magna cum laude by the doctoral supervisor Anton Haaß, Neurological University Clinic Homburg.

Habilitation

He obtained his habilitation with the volume therapy in ischemic cerebral infarction . The father of his postdoctoral qualification was Klaus Schimrigk, Neurological University Clinic Homburg.
