Johannes Wotschke

Johannes Wotschke (born June 20, 1899 in Gogolin , District Bromberg ; † November 11, 1988 in Hanover ) was a German engineer .

The son of the pastor and church historian Theodor Wotschke (1871–1939) took part in the First World War in 1918 and then studied electrical engineering at the TH Dresden . There he joined the Dresden I Association of German Students . For the SS 1922/23 he moved to Munich . He joined patriotic associations and took part in the march to the Munich Feldherrnhalle on November 9, 1923 . In the summer of 1924 he completed his studies with a Dipl.-Ing. from. He then joined the Bavarian nitrogen works in Piesteritza. After receiving his doctorate, he was promoted to general manager of the plant as a specialist in electrical melting furnaces until 1933. In 1938 he switched to the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute in Berlin as a high-temperature researcher . In 1945 he was briefly taken into French captivity. He then worked for four years in his research area in Grenoble and then founded a total metallurgical research and development association in Hanover .

In 1933 he was deputy head of the Kyffhäuser Association of German Student Associations and, as a long-time member of the NSDAP, he became head of the association on January 7, 1935. Although an avowed National Socialist, he fought for its independence until the dissolution of the association in August 1938.
