John Amadu Bangura
John Amadu Bangura (born March 8, 1930 in Kalangba , † March 29, 1970 in Freetown ) was a high-ranking military man between 1968 and 1970 and for four days in 1968, together with Patrick Conteh , head of state of Sierra Leone .
Bangura took power with Conteh and their Anti-corruption Revolutionary Movement (ACRM) on April 18, 1968 and ended a long period of coups . He held the office of Governor General before handing power on April 22, 1968 to a civilian government under Banja Tejan-Sie as Governor General and Siaka Probyn Stevens as Prime Minister.
