John Anthony Dooher (born May 3, 1943 in Dorchester , Massachusetts , USA ) is an American clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Boston .

Life

John Anthony Dooher received on 31 May 1969 by the Archbishop of Boston, Richard Cardinal Cushing , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On October 12, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . the titular bishop of Theveste and ordered him auxiliary bishop in Boston. The Archbishop of Boston, Sean Patrick Cardinal O'Malley OFMCap , donated him and Robert Francis Hennessey episcopal ordination on December 12 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishops in Boston, Francis Xavier Irwin and Walter Edyvean .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on June 30, 2018.
