John Baptist Thakur
John Baptist Thakur SJ (born February 8, 1937 in Bettiah ) is an Indian religious and emeritus bishop of Muzaffarpur .
Life
John Baptist Thakur joined the Congregation of the Jesuits and received on 19 March 1966, the priestly ordination .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Muzaffarpur on March 6, 1980 . He was ordained episcopate on June 24th of the same year by the Archbishop of Calcutta , Lawrence Trevor Cardinal Picachy SJ; Co- consecrators were Pius Kerketta SJ, Archbishop of Ranchi , and Benedict John Osta SJ, Bishop of Patna .
On July 11, 2014, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
