John Bosch

John Bosch (born April 1, 1964 in Zaandam ) is a former Dutch racing driver .

Career in motorsport

John Bosch started his career in karting and in 1982 won the Dutch championship. In the same year he also competed in Formula Ford and won the Wilkes Formula Ford Championship in Great Britain . The move to Formula 3 followed in 1983 . After a serious accident at the European Formula 3 championship race in Diepholz , he had to end the season early. Almost a year later, he had another serious accident in a Formula 3 race and had to end his single posto career.

After his recovery, he turned to rallying . He was a regular starter in the World Rally and European Championship for almost a decade . During this time he was able to win the tulip rally three times .

In 2003 he returned to the circuit as a sports car driver . He was encouraged to do this by his compatriot Jan Lammers , who hired him as a partner for his Racing for Holland project . After victories at the 2.30-hour race at the Lausitzring , the 500 km race in Monza and in Donington , he and Lammers won the overall standings in the FIA sports car championship . He finished the race at Le Mans in sixth place overall.

His last season as a professional racing driver was in 2006 when he was third overall in the Ferrari Challenge: Trofeo Pirelli . After his retirement, he drove historic car races with Ferrari monoposto and sports car models.
