John Diebold
John Diebold (born June 8, 1926 in the Weehawken , New Jersey , USA ; † December 26, 2005 in New York , NY ) was an American computer visionary and entrepreneur.
Life
Diebold developed business methods based on computers as early as 1952 . In his book Automation , he described the networking of computers and companies as a vision.
In business terms, Diebold had his first major success with the electronic conversion of the account management of Bowery Savings Bank in New York in 1961 .
As early as 1963 he was describing the displacement of typewriters by computers.
In 1991 Diebold sold his company, the Diebold Group , to Daimler-Benz and concentrated on setting up the Diebold Institute .
On German television / NDR, John Diebold was portrayed by Max H. Rehbein in 1981 as a man in a hurry ( New York trilogy , part 3).
John Diebold, also 'Mr. Automation ', was an advisor to several American presidents. As a book author, he has written several bestsellers.
