John Joseph Donahoe II (born April 30, 1960 in Evanston , Illinois ) was President and CEO of eBay from March 31, 2008 to July 17, 2015, succeeding Meg Whitman , who resigned from this post after ten years of service. He has been President and CEO of Nike since January 17, 2020 .

Donahoe received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Dartmouth College and his MBA from Stanford Business School .

Employment

Danohoe worked for 20 years at the global consulting firm Bain & Company , where he rose from associate consultant to chairman of the board of directors, managing 3,000 employees in 30 branches.

eBay

Donahoe joined eBay in February 2005 and was initially responsible for eBay Marketplaces and was thus responsible for eBay's global e-commerce business. In doing so, he aimed to expand eBay's core business, thereby doubling both sales and profits. He was also responsible for the acquisition of Shopping.com and StubHub and internet portals such as Gumtree and LoQUo .
