John Hilton (born March 12, 1942 in Albany , New York - † February 2, 2017 ) was an American football player on the tight end position . He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers , Green Bay Packers , Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions in the National Football League (NFL).

Early years

Hilton played college football at the University of Richmond .

NFL

Hilton was selected in the 1964 NFL draft in the 6th round in 76th place by the Detroit Lions , for which he did not initially play a game. His first NFL game graduated in 1965 for the Pittsburgh Steelers . In 1970 he moved to the Green Bay Packers , in 1971 to the Minnesota Vikings . In 1972 and 1973, he played for two years for the Detroit Lions before he announced his NFL retirement. In total, he scored 16 touchdowns in the NFL in his career .

WFL

1974 Hilton played another season with the Florida Blazers in the World Football League .

Personal

Hilton suffered from Alzheimer's disease until his death on February 2, 2017 .
