The 1969 NFL season marked the 50th season of American football in the NFL , which at the time, along with the American Football League , was the top football league in the United States. The regular season began on September 21, 1969 and ended exactly three months later, on December 21, 1969.

The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Cleveland Browns in the NFL Championship Game to claim their only title to date.

The Super Bowl IV was held on 11 January 1970th The American Football League team Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Minnesota Vikings 27-7.

Play-offs

The play-offs took place from December 28, 1969 to January 4, 1970. The winners of the four divisions competed against each other. The Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings defeated their opponents in the Conference Championship Games and competed against each other on January 4th. The game decided the Vikings for themselves and became the NFL champion of the current season.

Super Bowl IV

Super Bowl IV, the fourth edition of the tournament, took place on January 11, 1970 at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans , Louisiana . The NFL champions, the Minnesota Vikings team, competed against the American Football League winners , the Kansas City Chiefs . The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Vikings with 23: 7, the Super Bowl MVP was Len Dawson selected.

Pro Bowl

The Pro Bowl was held on January 18, 1970 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum between the Eastern and Western Conference. The Western Conference team won 16:13. Back Gale Sayers and lineman George Andire were elected to the Pro Bowl MVPs .
