The 1957 NFL Championship Game took place on December 29, 1957 at Briggs Stadium in Detroit , Michigan . The winners of the Eastern and Western divisions competed against each other. The winner of the Western Division was determined in a play-off game a week earlier. The Detroit Lions defeated the San Francisco 49ers after a temporary 7:27 deficit with 31:27.
