The 1922 NFL season was the third season of the American Football League NFL, after the previous name "American Professional Football Association" (APFA) was changed in favor of the National Football League on June 24 of the same year . The Canton Bulldogs became champions of the league .
Seven teams from the previous year no longer took part in the championship. New teams were the Milwaukee Badgers , Oorang Indians , Toledo Maroons, and the Racine Legion .
