The NFL season in 1933 was the 14th season of the American Football League National Football League (NFL). The champions of the league were the Chicago Bears .
With the Philadelphia Eagles , the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Cincinnati Reds , three new teams entered the league. The Boston Braves renamed themselves the Boston Redskins. The Staten Island Stapletons no longer participated.
Due to the success of the "1932 Final", the teams were divided into two divisions in the 1933 season. The winners of the two divisions then played the champions.
That same season, the NFL began to introduce its own rules, differentiating it from college football .
