Oorang Indians
The Oorang Indians were an American football team in the National Football League (NFL) of the United States that only played two years (1922/1923) in the game.
The Indians were officially settled in La Rue , Ohio near Marion . Their only home game, which was won on October 8, 1922 20: 6 against the Columbus Panhandles , took place in Marion. La Rue, which now has 775 residents, was the smallest place that ever hosted an NFL team. The team was also distinguished by the fact that all players were Indians under the leadership of the player-coach Jim Thorpe .
The team's name comes from the Oorang dog breed, whose owner Walter Lingo founded the team. Of the 20 games the Oorang Indians played in their existence, only one was a home game.
