reception

In addition to his novels and series, Lutz wrote a variety of short stories and is considered a prolific writer . He published most of his works under his own name; but occasionally he also used the pseudonym Van McCloud .

His most famous protagonists are "Alo Nudger" a private investigator who in St. Louis ( Missouri determined) and "Fred Carver" is also a private investigator in the fictional town of Del Moray ( Florida ). Later the former police officer "Frank Quinn" from the NYPD ( New York ) joined them. It is remarkable that Lutz introduces his protagonist Frank Quinn in the fourth volume of his Night series and immediately dedicates his own series to him. For the correct counting of the volumes this means: The volume Darker then night is the fourth volume in the Night series and at the same time the first volume in the Frank Quinn series .
