John Parkhurst

John Parkhurst (* 1512 in Guildford / Surrey ; † February 2, 1575 in Norwich / Norfolk ) was Bishop of Norwich ( 1560 - 1675 ).

Life

He received his education at Magdalen College School and at Merton College in Oxford . The future Bishop of Salisbury John Jewel was his pupil during Parkhurst's tenure as a fellow at Merton College. During and after a stay in Zurich around 1550, he maintained a friendly relationship with Josias Simler and Heinrich Bullinger . His successor in office was Edmond Freak .
