John Stephen Michaud

John Stephen Michaud (born November 24, 1843 in Burlington , Vermont , USA , † December 22, 1908 in New York City ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and Bishop of Burlington .

Life

John Stephen Michaud attended Bryant and Stratton Business College before moving into the minor seminary in Montreal occurred. He then studied at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester and the St. Joseph’s Seminary in Troy . He received on 29 September 1873 the Bishop of Ogdensburg , Edgar Philip Prindle Wadhams , the sacrament of Holy Orders . For the next almost twenty years he was active in pastoral care in the diocese of Burlington.

On May 4, 1892, Pope Leo XIII appointed him . the Coadjutor Bishop of Burlington and titular bishop of Modra . The Archbishop of Boston , John Joseph Williams , ordained him episcopal on June 29 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Manchester , Denis Mary Bradley , and the Bishop of Ogdensburg, Henry Gabriels .

With the death of Louis De Goesbriands on November 3, 1899, he followed this as Bishop of Burlington.

He found his final resting place in Resurrection Park in South Burlington .
