Denis Mary Bradley

Denis Mary Bradley (born February 25, 1846 in Castleisland , County Kerry , Ireland , † December 13, 1903 ) was an Irish-American clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Manchester .

Life

Denis Mary Bradley received the sacrament of ordination for the Diocese of Portland on June 3, 1871 . From 1880 he was pastor of St. Joseph in Manchester .

Pope Leo XIII. appointed him on April 18, 1884 first bishop of the three days earlier established diocese of Manchester . The Archbishop of Boston , John Joseph Williams , donated him episcopal ordination on June 11 of that year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Burlington , Louis De Goesbriand , and the Bishop of Saint Augustine , John Moore .
