John Thomas McNally

John Thomas McNally (born June 24, 1871 in Hope River , Prince Edward Island , Canada , † November 18, 1952 ) was a Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Halifax .

Life

John Thomas McNally received on 4 April 1896, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On April 4, 1913, Pope Pius X appointed him first Bishop of Calgary . The emeritus Apostolic Delegate in the USA , Diomede Cardinal Falconio OFM , donated him the episcopal ordination on June 1st of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Valleyfield , Joseph-Médard Émard , and the Bishop of Dunkeld , Robert Fraser .

Pope Pius XI appointed him on August 12, 1924 Bishop of Hamilton . The inauguration took place on November 26th of the same year. On February 17, 1937, John Thomas McNally became Archbishop of Halifax.
