The Joint Warfare Center (JWC) is a NATO education and training center in Jåtten near Stavanger , Norway . It is located in a protected bunker that extends over three underground floors and 70 meters deep into the rock.

It was established on October 23, 2003 and is a sub-command of the Allied Command Transformation in Norfolk , United States . The reason for the establishment of the JWC was the formation of a command that is specifically dedicated to training the NATO headquarters. The full operational capability (FOC) took place in June 2006.

Since June 2006, up to four joint armed forces exercises have been held in Stavanger each year on an operational level. These are each planned, prepared and carried out over a period of up to 18 months. The Joint Warfare Center has 250 soldiers from 16 nations. Of these, the German Bundeswehr, with currently 36 soldiers, has the largest share in a NATO comparison.
