Jon D. Fox (born April 22, 1947 in Abington , Pennsylvania , † February 11, 2018 there ) was an American politician . Between 1995 and 1999 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Jon Fox attended Cheltenham High School in Wyncote until 1965 . He then studied at Pennsylvania State University until 1969 . After studying law and being admitted to the bar in 1975, he began to work in this profession. From 1969 to 1975 he was also a member of the US Air Force Reserve . In the following years he held various positions. Among other things, he worked for the General Services Administration . He was also a guest speaker in the Presidential Classroom for Young Americans . Between 1976 and 1984 he was also the assistant district attorney. Politically, he joined the Republican Party . Between 1984 and 1990 he was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives ; from 1991 to 1994 he was a member of the Montgomery County County Council. In 1992 he ran unsuccessfully for Congress .

In the 1994 congressional elections , however, Fox was elected to the 13th constituency of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he succeeded Democrat Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky on January 3, 1995 . After being re-elected, he was able to complete two legislative terms there until January 3, 1999. In 1998 it was not confirmed.

In 2004, Jon Fox ran unsuccessfully to return to Congress. He was married and had a son.
