Jon Solly
Jon Solly (actually Jonathan Solly ; born June 28, 1963 ) is a former British long-distance runner .
In 1986 he was British runner-up in the 10 km road race and British champion over 10,000 m . Over the same distance he won for England starting at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh .
The following year he finished second in the Gasparilla Distance Classic. At the World Athletics Championships in Rome in 1987 , he finished 15th over 10,000 m. In 1990 he finished fourth in the Great North Run and second in the Twin Cities Marathon . At the California International Marathon 1993 and the Turin Marathon 1996 he also came in second.
