Jonas De Roeck (born December 20, 1979 in Barcelona ) is a former Belgian soccer player and coach of VV St. Truiden since the 2017/18 season .

player

De Roeck played from 1992 to 1997 in the youth of Royal Antwerp and then got a professional contract with the oldest football club in Belgium. In the 2000/01 season he rose with the club in the Belgian Jupiler League .

In 2001, after a total of nine years at Antwerp, he moved to Lierse SK , where he was a regular player, but De Roeck could not celebrate any successes in the four years there.

He then played two seasons for Germinal Beerschot in the Belgian first division.

The next two years de Roeck played at two-time Belgian champions KAA Gent and reached the UEFA Cup in the 2008/09 season .

For the 2009/10 season he signed a contract initially for two years with the German second division club FC Augsburg . Until his meniscus injury after the 4th game day, he was a regular player in central defense. In the 2010/11 season , De Roeck made it to the Bundesliga as runner-up with FCA. After relegation, he was officially adopted on the last day of the 2011/12 season because the club did not extend the expiring contract.

Jonas de Roeck then moved back to Belgium for the 2012/13 season and signed a contract with Oud-Heverlee Löwen in the Belgian first division. After only one year, he moved back to the second division Royal Antwerp in the summer of 2013 and ended his playing career there on June 30, 2015.

After stints in the Belgian amateur area at Lyra TSV and Berchem Sport , De Roeck took over the coaching position at the first division club VV St. Truiden in the Jupiler Pro League on August 14, 2017 .
