Jonas Maier started on the international level for the first time on September 13, 2015 as part of the Nordic Combined Alpine Cup in Winterberg , where he finished 51st. Since then, further competitions have followed regularly. On January 4th and 5th, 2019, Maier made his debut in the Continental Cup in Klingenthal , where he once reached 51st place and was disqualified in the second competition. As a result, there are further Continental Cup participations; His best placings so far (as of March 2020) was an eleventh place in the individual in Nizhny Tagil on March 11, 2020 and in the team a third place together with Justin Moczarski , Jonas Welde and Jakob Lange in the Eisenerz team competition on February 9, 2019.
On September 4, 2019 Maier made his debut in Tschagguns in the Grand Prix . He finished in 28th place and got his first Grand Prix points straight away.
