Justin Moczarski (born May 11, 1998 ) is a German Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Moczarski, who competes for SK Winterberg , made his international debut on September 7, 2013 at the Alpine Cup competition in Winterberg . However , he did not collect his first points in this youth competition series of the OPA until February 2014 in Planica . At the Nordic Ski Games of the OPA 2014 in Gérardmer , he won the gold medal at Team Gundersen together with Hans Neubert , Anton Schlütter and Vinzenz Geiger . He was able to defend this title with different line-ups at the Nordic Ski Games of the OPA 2015 in Seefeld . For the first time, Moczarski reached the podium in third place in September 2015 at the Alpencup in Winterberg. In total, he was able to celebrate six podium finishes in the Alpine Cup, including three wins.

In December 2016 Moczarski made his debut in Klingenthal in the Continental Cup . There he initially missed the points, but was able to win his first ten points on the second day of the competition. After he did not take part in any other competitions of the Continental Cup, he finished 87th place in the overall standings. In the following season he only competed in the Continental Cup on one weekend , scored a total of twenty points in Planica and ultimately climbed to 84th place in the overall standings. Unlike in the previous two years, Moczarski was a permanent part of the German Continental Cup team in winter 2018/19 . Already in the first competitions in Steamboat Springs and Park City he reached a place in the top 15 four times. In February he reached third place with the relay in Eisenerz together with Jonas Maier , Jonas Welde and Jakob Lange . End of the season it was for the final weekend in Schonach in the world cup appointed team. With the ranks 44 and 43, however, he clearly missed the points.

Moczarski won his first Grand Prix point at the Gundersen Singles in Tschagguns as part of the 2019 Grand Prix. In an internal team elimination in Lillehammer , Moczarski qualified for the opening competitions of the Continental Cup in Park City at the beginning of December . There he lived up to the nomination on the first day of the competition with his first top 10 placement, which he was able to confirm in the further course of the season. After narrowly missing the podium in fourth and sixth on the last competition weekend in Nizhny Tagil , he finished the season in ninth place in the overall standings.
