Jonathan Rafael Faña Frías (born April 11, 1987 in Moca ) is a Dominican football player on the position of midfielder . He is currently playing for W Connection in the TT Pro League , the top soccer league in Trinidad and Tobago .
For the 2010 season he was loaned to Puerto Rico Islanders FC , who played in the USSF D2 Pro League .
Career
Faña began his career in 2004 with Don Bosco Moca in the Dominican Republic , to whom he remained loyal until 2005. In 2006 he moved to Trinidad and Tobago for Williams Connection FC . With the team he won the CFU Club Championship of 2009 and was the top scorer of the competition with six goals. He also took part in the CONCACAF Champions League 2009/10 , in which he was used seven times, scoring five goals and providing an assist . Among other things, he scored a hat trick on September 24, 2009 in a 3-0 win over the Guatemalan club CSD Comunicaciones .
Further successes with the team from Trinidad and Tobago were winning the FCB Cup of Trinidad and Tobago in 2006, 2007 and 2008. In addition, the team was a finalist of the Pro Bowl in Trinidad and Tobago in 2006 and won this competition the following year. The victory at the CFU Club Championship 2009 was not the only success during such a cup competition; in 2006 won Jonathan Faña with Williams Connection FC the tournament.
The team from Marabella also won the Goal Shield in Trinidad and Tobago after beating Defense Force FC 3-0 in the final. Jonathan Faña Frías was subsequently voted the best player of the tournament and was also the top scorer of the competition with five goals. In 2007 the team won the Pro League Big Six .
On February 27, Faña was loaned to the Puerto Rico Islanders for a year.
