Jonny Madoc accounts (original title: Pecos è qui: Prega e muori ) is the title of a 1967 Italo-Western , which again focuses on the title character from the film Jonny Madoc . Again Maurizio Lucidi staged the American Robert Woods in the lead role. The film was shown for the first time in cinemas in German-speaking countries on December 8, 1967.

The three happy, traveling musicians Paco, Pepe and Pinto arrive in a Mexican village that had recently been ravaged by the bandits El Supremos. The only one still alive in the chaos of death and destruction, an old man, hands them a map showing the hiding place of the legendary treasure of Montezuma; then he too dies. The map leads to the headquarters of El Supremos, who, in his fanaticism, considers himself to be the true heir of Montezuma; it is located in the ancient temple of Teacoco. The musicians find support from the gunslinger Pecos Martínez, who wants to help them in their search and therefore sneaks El Supremo's trust so that he accepts him in his gang. With superior cunning and cunning, as well as his skills at the weapon, Pecos can take out one after the other of the megalomaniac's men before he defeats Supremo himself in a furious duel. Fraternally, he shares the treasure Montezuma found with Pinto, Pepe and Paco.
criticism
The lexicon of international films saw a “naive-primitive mixture of agent film and westerns, the action of which is only a means to demonstrate the desire to kill.” Even the Protestant film observer does not think much of the film: “In the name of one thing, not closer Motivated right, the hero of this adventurously illogical film slaughters a band of bandits in order to finally share a stolen gold treasure with his friends. Confused morals, confused dramaturgy. Superfluous. ”The craftsmanship of the film is still very good, but if you have an aversion to fun westerns, you might not be as well advised with this film, says Christian Keßler as well .
Remarks
The "disappointing" sequel changed the character of the title character as much as that of the film style. Instead of the “earthy dirtiness” of the first film, “put on the humor card”.
The film grossed 127 million lire in Italy .
