Jordan Craig Hill (born July 27, 1987 in Newberry , South Carolina ) is an American basketball player.

college

Jordan Hill played at Patterson High School, North Carolina, where he made a name for himself in his senior year with 16.4 points, 10.3 rebounds and 4.2 blocks per game. Those responsible at the University of Arizona were then able to convince him of their program. In his freshman playing time , the power forward did not really come into play and only recorded 4.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game on the statistics sheet. In the second season Hill started as a sophomore and got 13.2 points and 7.9 rebounds per encounter. He then signed up for the 2009 NBA draft .

Small forward Chase Budinger , who like Hill plays for the Houston Rockets in the NBA, was his teammate during this time and was also drafted in 44th place in the 2009 NBA draft.

NBA

Hill was selected 8th in the 2009 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks . He made $ 4,300,000 in his first two years in the NBA. The 2009/10 season was rather disappointing for Hill, he could not really prevail in the rotation of the New York Knicks and also not convince with his performances. After only half a year in New York, the Knicks sent him to the Houston Rockets, and in return the former NBA all star Tracy McGrady moved to New York. In Houston things then went a little better for the forward and at the end of the year he averaged 5.6 points and 3.7 rebounds in 47 games this season.

His first full year with the Rockets brought Hill not only 72 missions and thus a guaranteed place in the rotation, but also recognition for his good performance as a backup for Luis Scola . In just under 15 minutes of playing time per game Hill scored 5.6 points per game and was able to record 4.3 rebounds per match.

On March 15, 2012 Hill was transferred to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Derek Fisher and a first-round draft pick .

In 2013-14, Hill played his best season with 9.7 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. At the end of the season he extended his contract with the Lakers for several years.

In the summer of 2015, Hill moved to the Indiana Pacers . At the Pacers, he brought it to 8.8 points and 6.2 rebounds in 73 games. The following summer, Hill left the Pacers and signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves . A year later, he was released by the Wolves in the summer of 2017.

He then switched to the newly founded North American Premier Basketball to the Nevada Desert Dogs . In 2018 he joined the Vancouver Knights .

Others

His cousin Trevor Booker also plays in the NBA. Currently for the Indiana Pacers .
