Jordan Kamdzhalow (born October 16, 1980 in Targovishte ) is a Bulgarian conductor and musician .

Life

Kamdzhalow studied conducting at the National Music Academy “Prof. Pantscho Wladigerow ” in Sofia and later at the Hanns Eisler State University of Music in Berlin and with David Zinman , Jorma Panula , Kurt Masur , Bernard Haitink , Simon Rattle and Daniel Barenboim . At the Lucerne Festival Academy, Kamdzhalov worked with Péter Eötvös , Pierre Boulez and mentors from the Intercontemporain ensemble . He has conducted the Philharmonia Orchestra London , the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich , the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin , the Konzerthausorchester Berlin , the English Chamber Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra . In 2010 he worked as cover conductor for Esa-Pekka-Salonen with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra .

At the age of 29, Jordan Kamdzhalov set up a foundation that promotes talented Bulgarian singers, instrumentalists, conductors and composers.
