Jorge Miguel de Oliveira Ribeiro (born November 9, 1981 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese football player who plays in defense .

For the 2008/09 season he moved from Boavista Porto to Benfica Lisbon . He was also appointed to the Portuguese national team for the 2008 European Championship . Jorge Ribeiro is the younger brother of Maniche .

career

Jorge Ribeiro was trained at the Benfica Football School and made his debut for the club in the 1999/2000 season. It was awarded several times over the next few years, until in 2005 it accepted an offer from Dynamo Moscow . But after just one season he was awarded again, but this time to Spain to FC Málaga and a year later to Desportivo Aves in Portugal .

For the 2007/08 season he was signed by Boavista Porto . After a strong season, he was again signed by his hometown club Benfica Lisbon.

National team

He played his first game in November 2002 against Scotland . But it wasn't until 2007 that he became a regular player for the national team, which also earned him a place in the squad of the Portuguese national team for the 2008 European Championship .
