Joris Rühl (born September 29, 1982 ) is a French jazz and improvisation musician ( clarinets ) and composer .

Live and act

Rühl, who has a German father and a French mother, studied clarinet with Jacques Di Donato at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse in Lyon . He has since played a. a. with Lê Quan Ninh , Michel Doneda , Kim Myhr, Eivind Lønning, Eric Carlsson, Clare Cooper, Emmanuel Scarpa, Nils Ostendorf , Anthony Pateras , Joel Grip and Eve Risser . He also worked with the dancer Bérengère Valor, with whom he appeared at Art 02 in the Paris Grand Palais , as well as with the composers Michael Jarell, Daniel D'Adamo, Malika Kishino and Karl Naegelen.

Rühl also worked in Germany in Carl Ludwig Hübsch's formations Drift and schönsch Acht as well as in projects by Thomas Lehn , Norbert Stein and Achim Tang , with whom he performed at the moers festival in 2011 . Stein also brought him to the James Choice Orchestra in Cologne ; he was also a member of the Trio Facet (with Adrian Myhr and Maciej Śledziecki ). Rühl, who lives in Paris, also composed the theme music for the film Le blues du rocker (2009, director: Jonathan Lennuyeux-Comnène).
