José Alejandro Castaño Arbeláez OAR (born April 1, 1945 in La Ceja , Colombia ) is Bishop of Cartago .

Life

José Alejandro Castaño Arbeláez joined the order of the Augustinian Recollects and was ordained a priest on December 8, 1971 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on November 13, 2006 auxiliary bishop in Cali and titular bishop of Castellum Tatroportus . The Apostolic Nuncio in Colombia , Beniamino Stella , donated him episcopal ordination on January 27 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Juan Francisco Sarasti Jaramillo CIM , Archbishop of Cali , and Héctor Javier Pizarro Acevedo OAR, Vicar Apostolic of Trinidad .

As a motto he chose Servi vestri sumus . He was appointed Bishop of Cartago on October 21, 2010 and was introduced to the office on November 27 of the same year.
