José Alfredo Caires de Nobrega SCI (born April 12, 1951 in Caniço ) is a Portuguese religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Mananjary .

Life

José Alfredo Caires de Nobrega joined the religious order of the Dehonians and was ordained a priest on December 28, 1980 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Mananjary on October 30, 2000. The Archbishop of Fianarantsoa , Philibert Randriambololona SJ , donated him episcopal ordination on March 18 of the next year ; Co - consecrators were Charles-Remy Rakotonirina SJ, Bishop of Farafangana , and António de Sousa Braga SCI, Bishop of Angra .

From January 2014 to March 2018 he was also Apostolic Administrator of the vacant Diocese of Farafangana.
