With a prologue by the poet Idea Vilariño and musical accompaniment by Yamandú Palacios and Roberto Cabrera , this record was a great success in Uruguay and Latin America. Also Chiquillada , one often later by other artists - including Jorge Cafrune and Leonardo Favio - interpreted song, increased his popularity.

In addition to Carbajal's extensive recordings, his musical work was also well received in other areas. His song Borracho, pero con flores was part of the American Claire Best film Fishing with George . In 2002 he toured the USA and Canada with Canario Luna .
