José Fernandes Veloso

José Fernandes Veloso (born March 4, 1916 in São Manuel , State of São Paulo , Brazil , † July 10, 2006 ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Petrópolis .

Life

José Fernandes Veloso received on 12 April 1941, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On March 23, 1966, Pope Paul VI appointed him . as titular bishop of Aquae in Proconsulari and auxiliary bishop in Petrópolis. The bishop of Petrópolis, Manuel Pedro da Cunha Cintra , donated him episcopal ordination on May 22nd of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the bishop of Jaboticabal , José Varani , and the auxiliary bishop in Botucatu , Silvio Maria Dário .

On 26 November 1981 it appointed Pope John Paul II. To Coadjutor Bishop of Petrópolis. With the resignation of Manuel Pedro da Cunha Cintras on February 15, 1984 he succeeded him as Bishop of Petrópolis.

Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation on November 15, 1995.
