Manuel Pedro da Cunha Cintra (born November 11, 1906 in Piracaia , state of São Paulo , Brazil , † March 30, 1999 in Petrópolis , state of Rio de Janeiro ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Petrópolis .

Life

Manuel Pedro da Cunha Cintra received on 26 October 1930, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On January 3, 1948, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the first bishop of Petrópolis. The Archbishop of São Paulo , Carlos Carmelo Cardinal de Vasconcellos Motta , donated him episcopal ordination on March 28 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Curitiba , Ático Eusébio da Rocha , and the Auxiliary Bishop of São Paulo, Antônio Maria Alves de Siqueira .

On February 15, 1984, Pope John Paul II accepted Manuel Pedro da Cunha Cintra's resignation due to reasons of age.

Manuel Pedro da Cunha Cintra participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
