José Juan Macías Guzmán (born September 22, 1999 in Guadalajara , Jalisco ) is a Mexican football player on the position of a striker , who was recently regarded as the "most valuable player" of the MX league .

career

Macías began his career in the junior division of his home club Club Deportivo Guadalajara , for whose junior team he initially made 37 appearances in the Tercera División between 2015 and the beginning of 2017 and scored 18 goals. He also completed 28 league games in the U-17 championship round for the club's U-17 team in the 2016/17 season, in which he also scored 18 goals.

Due to his scoring danger, Chivas coach Matías Almeyda brought him to the first team for the 2017/18 season. Macías made his debut in the Supercup final against the UANL Tigres , which was played on July 16, 2017 and lost 1-0. Just a week later, on July 22, 2017, he made his debut in the top Mexican division in a goalless home game against Deportivo Toluca .

Macías scored his first goal for the first team in a group match of the Copa México at FC Juárez on August 9, 2017 , which was won 1-0 by his early goal in the 12th minute. He scored his first goals in the top division on October 28, 2017, when he contributed two goals to the 3-1 home win against Club Tijuana .

Macías was also successful in the CONCACAF Champions League and scored one goal in both the first and second leg of the round of 16 against Cibao FC in the 2-0 and 5-0 victories of his club in February 2018 .

Macías spent the entire calendar year 2019 on loan at Club León , for which he played a total of 32 point games in the top Mexican division and scored 16 goals.

In October and November 2019 he played 5 international appearances for the Mexican national football team , in which he scored a total of 4 goals.
