José Luis Escobar Alas
José Luis Escobar Alas (born March 10, 1959 in San Salvador ) is Roman Catholic Archbishop of San Salvador .
Life
Escobar Alas was ordained a priest for the Diocese of San Vicente on August 15, 1982 after studying theology in Mexico .
On 19 January 2002 it appointed Pope John Paul II. To auxiliary bishop of his home diocese and titular bishop of Thibica . José Oscar Barahona Castillo , Bishop of San Vicente, donated his episcopal ordination to him . Co-consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Venezuela , Archbishop Giacinto Berloco and Eduardo Alas Alfaro , the Bishop of Chalatenango .
On June 4, 2005 he was received by Pope Benedict XVI. appointed Bishop of San Vicente and solemnly introduced on July 9, 2005.
On December 27, 2008, he was appointed Archbishop of San Salvador.
