José Oscar Barahona Castillo (born November 29, 1938 in Mercedes La Ceiba , La Paz Department , † October 22, 2016 ) was a Salvadoran clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of San Vicente .

Life

José Oscar Barahona Castillo was ordained a priest for the diocese of San Vicente on January 20, 1963 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in San Vicente and titular bishop of Mibiarca on July 16, 1982 . The Bishop of San Vicente, Pedro Arnoldo Aparicio y Quintanilla SDB , donated him episcopal ordination on October 9 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Arturo Rivera y Damas SDB, Bishop of Santiago de María , and José Eduardo Alvarez Ramírez CM , Bishop of the Military Ordinary of El Salvador and Bishop of San Miguel .

On June 6, 1983, he was appointed Bishop of San Vicente. On June 4, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation.
