Chico , real name José Manuel Flores Moreno (born March 6, 1987 in Cádiz ), is a Spanish football player .

Beginnings in Spain

Chico began his career in the youth department of his home club Cadiz FC . For the 2006/07 season he was raised to the professional squad and played three competitive games in the Segunda División . Between 2007 and 2008 it was awarded to Racing Club Portuense and the second team of FC Barcelona . In summer 2008 he switched to UD Almería .

CFC Genoa and RCD Mallorca

In late July 2010, he signed after long negotiations a contract with Genoa in Serie A . The transfer fee was around four million euros. In his first and only season in Italy, he did not even play half of all league games. On July 22nd, 2011 it was loaned to RCD Mallorca for one year, plus a purchase option . He played 33 games for Mallorca in the 2011/12 season.

Swansea City

On July 10, 2012 Chico signed a three-year contract with the Premier League club Swansea City . He made his league debut on August 18 of the same year when he played over ninety minutes on Loftus Road against the Queens Park Rangers .

On April 6, 2013, he extended his contract with the Swans until June 2016. For the 2014/15 season, Chico moved to Lekhwiya in Qatar .

National team

In October 2008, Chico made his debut for the Spanish U-21 selection . At the U-21 European Championship in Sweden in 2009, he was used in the group game against Germany .
