Suriko Davitashvili ( Georgia ზურიკო დავითაშვილი , FIFA spelling of English transcription. Zuriko Davitashvili ; * 15. February 2001 in Tbilisi ), also known by his nickname Zurab (ზურაბ) is a Georgian footballer , who currently serves as Players out on loan from Rubin Kazan in Rotor Volgograd is under contract.

The attacking midfielder has been a Georgian international since September 2019 .

Suriko Dawitashvili comes from the youth department of the Georgian record champions Dinamo Tbilisi , where he was promoted to the first team at the end of the 2017 game year . The 16-year-old made his debut under head coach Kacha Katscharawa on September 29 in a 1-1 draw against FC Kolcheti 1913 Poti , when he was in the starting line-up from the start. In the remaining season he came to five more league appearances.

In January 2018 he joined the league competitor Lokomotive Tbilisi, where he began the following season in 2018 as a regular player, but dropped out of the team after five games and only returned to it in August. On September 27 (26th matchday) he scored his first two goals in the Erovnuli League and thus led his team to a 2-1 home win against FC Dila Gori . On November 30th (34th matchday) he scored a 5-1 home win against Kolcheti Poti for the third time this season, which he finally ended with 17 league games. In the next game year 2019 he made 10 appearances in the league by July 2019.

On June 29, 2019, Zurab Dawitashvili signed a three-year contract with the Russian first division club Rubin Kazan . Head coach Roman Sergejewitsch Sharonov relied on the young Georgian from the start of the 2019/20 season and enabled him to make his debut appearance on the first match day. In the 1-1 draw against Lokomotiv Moscow he was on the field from the start. He scored his first goal for Rubin on October 5 (matchday 12) in a 2-1 at home against FK Tambov . During this season he completed 26 league games in which he was able to record two goals.

On August 20, 2020, Dawitashvili switched to first division promoted Rotor Volgograd for the entire 2020/21 season .

National team

In March 2016 Dawitashvili made his debut in the friendly international match against Armenia U19 in the Georgian U17 national football team . In the 4-1 home win he was substituted on for Aleksandre Andronikaschwili in the 41st minute of the game and also scored a goal in this game. In January 2017 he took over the captain's armband and subsequently played various missions for the U17s. He scored 23 goals in 27 international matches, including a four-pack in his last game on March 27, 2018 in a 6-1 away win in qualifying for the 2018 U17 European Championship against Macedonia .

He has been in the U19 since November 2017 and in the U21 since March 2019 .

On September 5, 2019, he made his debut in a 2-2 draw in the friendly against South Korea for the senior national team .
