José Pont y Gol (born April 9, 1907 in Bellpuig , Spain , † October 4, 1995 ) was Archbishop of Tarragona .

Life

José Pont y Gol was ordained a priest on March 22, 1931. 1951 he was by Pope Pius XII. appointed bishop of the diocese of Segorbe . The episcopal ordination on November 30, 1951 donated him the Bishop of Solsona and later Cardinal Vicente Enrique y Tarancón ; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Lérida, Aurelio del Pino Gómez , and the Bishop of Urgell, Ramon Iglésias Navarri . In 1970 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. appointed Archbishop of Tarragona. His age-related retirement request was granted in 1983 by Pope John Paul II .
