Ramon Iglésias Navarri
Ramon Iglésias Navarri (born January 28, 1889 in Durro in the Vall de Boí , † March 31, 1972 in La Seu d'Urgell ) was Bishop of Urgell and Co-Prince of Andorra from April 4, 1943 to April 29, 1969.
Navarri was ordained a priest on July 14, 1912. On December 29, 1942, he was appointed Bishop of Urgell. He was ordained bishop on April 4, 1943, by the then Apostolic Nuncio of Spain and later Cardinal of the Curia , Gaetano Cicognani .
During his tenure in the politically sensitive phase of the Second World War, he maintained Andorran neutrality, but also strengthened Spanish influence. Later he promoted the awareness of Andorra and also the tourism in the country.
After Navarri resigned from the episcopate in Urgell, he was appointed titular bishop of Satrianum .
