José da Costa e Silva
José da Costa e Silva (born July 25, 1747 in Vila Franca de Xira , † March 21, 1819 in Rio de Janeiro ) was a Portuguese architect.
Life
After studying architecture and drawing in Lisbon , he went to Bologna in 1769 . After his return in 1780 he worked as an architect. His buildings, which were mainly built in the Lisbon area, can be assigned to classicism .
In 1781 he became a university teacher for architecture and drawing.
In 1807 he went with the Portuguese royal court , fleeing from the Napoleonic invasion troops, the Brazilian Rio de Janeiro , where he died 1819th
