Josef Šural (born May 30, 1990 in Hustopeče , Czechoslovakia ; † April 29, 2019 in Alanya , Turkey ) was a Czech football player .

Career

society

Josef Šural started his professional career at FC Zbrojovka Brno . When the club was relegated to the second Czech division in the 2010/11 season, Šural moved to FC Slovan Liberec together with Michael Rabušic . With this club he won the Czech championship in 2011/12 . In January 2016 he joined Sparta Prague for the second half of the 2015/16 season .

For the second half of the 2018/19 season he moved to the Turkish first division club Alanyaspor .

National team

At the European Football Championship in France in 2016 , he was included in the Czech squad . He made his first appearance in the opening game against Spain as a substitute in the final minutes. He then came on the field as a substitute in the last third of the game in the games against Croatia and Turkey. As the bottom of the group, the team was eliminated after the preliminary round.

Šural died in April 2019 at the age of 28 in Alanya , Turkey, as a result of serious injuries from a traffic accident in the minibus with which he was on the way back from an away game in Kayseri for the local club Kayserispor .
