Josef Aichbichler (born April 13, 1845 in Wolnzach , † April 6, 1912 in Hofendorf near Neufahrn ) was a Bavarian politician of the Bavarian Patriot Party (from 1887 the Bavarian Center Party ).

Career

After attending grammar school in Metten , Aichbichler studied in Munich from 1864 to 1866, before becoming administrator of his father's business in 1866. In 1871 he took over his father's business and was a beer brewer, landowner and owner of the Resch'n-Bräu inn in the Hallertau market town of Wolnzach . From 1872 he was a member of the Wolnzach municipal council, and in 1874 he became chairman of the municipal council. In 1889 he became mayor of Wolnzach and held the post until his resignation on December 7, 1907. From 1883 to 1897 he was a member of the board of directors of the Bavarian Agriculture Council.

From May 20, 1880 to May 1, 1882 and from November 1884 to January 1907 he was a member of the Reichstag . On November 14, 1902, the "lex Aichbichler" named after him was passed in the Reichstag on the basis of his motion for rules of procedure. The previously customary roll-call voting by name call was replaced by voting cards. From 1897 to 1907 Aichbichler was a member of the executive committee of the Reichstag parliamentary group.

From 1881 until his death in April 1912, he was also a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Bavarian State Parliament and from 1883 to 1911 was on the board of the central parliamentary group in the Bavarian state parliament.
