Josef Anton Georg Büeler

Josef Anton Georg Büeler (born April 22, 1824 in Lachen , † June 4, 1891 in Schwyz ) was an entrepreneur and conservative politician in the Swiss canton of Schwyz .

Büeler was entitled to live in Schwyz and Lachen. His father was a farmer . As a member of the government , Büeler headed the military from 1852 to 1859 and the judiciary from 1859 to 1862. He was provincial governor from 1854 to 1855 and from 1858 to 1860 and mayor from 1856 to 1858 and 1860 to 1862. He also held various political offices and mandates. From 1848 to 1849 he was mayor of the municipality of Lachen, from 1850 to 1852 district commander of the March and from 1876 to 1884 a member of the Schwyz municipal council. At the same time he worked in the canton parliament as a cantonal councilor in the electoral periods from 1848 to 1862 and from 1886 to 1888 and was elected president of the cantonal council for the period from 1852 to 1853. In 1857 he was elected to the Swiss National Council, where he was active until 1863.

In 1856 he became co-owner of the new spinning mill in Ibach (municipality of Schwyz). In 1859 he founded a glass factory in Lachen.
